By challenging modern conventions of popular culture, my practice aims to critique the inarguable destructive standards of flawlessness and comparison set by social media, through commenting on the likes of today’s poisonous celebrity culture, my work explores themes including relationships, gender hierarchies, sexism and stereotypes. Gendered Spaces explores the symbolic role flowers play in definitions of femininity, whilst analysing and critiquing gendered spaces and stereotypes.
