Unititled – A Mask What For?’

‘Untitled – A Mask What For?’ is a work in progress, involving oil on canvas, treating the subject of masks, their purpose and meanings as an art form. This painting is an intermediate piece of work linked to future sculptures of my own masks. The mask seen here is my own interpretation of what I’d use a mask for, more precisely a tool of empowerment with a minimalistic aethetic (taking out the focus on any paraphernalia) and idially where gender isn’t primordial in society.
